Baptism is a meaningful step of obedience that publicly shows we’ve placed our trust in Jesus for salvation. Jesus was baptized during His time on earth, and we follow His example in taking this step.

Through baptism, we symbolically share in His death and burial by being submerged in water, and in His resurrection as we rise again—celebrating new life in Christ.
We offer baptisms twice a year as a powerful way to publicly share your faith in Jesus. You can sign up online or in-person at our Welcome Center. All participants will attend a special training class to help prepare for their hearts and minds, while also sharing important details about how we baptize. Each person will receive a free shirt and cinch bag, and a photo with a certificate will be mailed afterward as a keepsake to remember the day.

We encourage you to invite your friends and family to celebrate with you as you take this meaningful step in your faith journey.
Our next Water Baptism will take place during our Annual Outdoor Service on Sunday, August 17th at 10:30 AM.

There are 3 important reasons God calls all who follow him to be baptized:
Those who are baptized are choosing to follow Jesus’ example and walk in obedience to His command. It’s a powerful step that reflects a heart committed to living for Him.
“He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but he who does not believe will be condemned.” –Mark 16:16
We baptize anyone age 7 and older who understands the meaning of baptism and is ready to make that personal, public declaration of faith. We encourage parents to partner with our Woodlawn Kids and WDLN Youth ministries to help guide their children through this important step.
We believe that baptism is an important step in one’s faith journey with Christ. Therefore, we do not baptize infants, as we believe baptism should follow a personal decision to trust in Jesus as Savior. In Scripture, baptism is always preceded by a conscious choice to follow Christ—something infants are not yet able to make. Instead, we encourage parents to dedicate their children to the Lord and commit to raising them in the faith until they are old enough to make that decision for themselves.
Doing this follows the example we see in the Bible, from Jesus’ childhood dedication (Luke 2:22–40) to His baptism as an adult in the Jordan River (Matthew 3:16–17).

Baptism is meant to mark your decision to follow Jesus, the start of a changed life, and your connection to a family of believers. If your previous baptism didn’t reflect that personal commitment or life change, we encourage you to take that step again as a true expression of your faith.
We offer special Baptism Sundays to celebrate this important step in your faith journey.
Baptisms take place during our services, allowing your church family to support and celebrate with you. It’s a joyful and meaningful moment shared with the community. For more information on our next Baptism Sunday, please email us at info@woodlawnonline.com or visit us in the welcome center.
